CASS sustainable development advanced training program
 
Sustainable Development
and Environmental Management
 

The objective of CASS Training Program is to provide the Chinese participants with the overview of the European and Italian strategies and policies on sustainable development, the Italian successful experiences of eco-environmental management and innovative environmental technologies.

Topics including Eco-management Strategies and Policies, Global Environment and Strategies for Sustainable Development, National and Local Dimensions of Sustainable Development, Clean and Renewable Energy, Waste Management and Water Resources Management are being covered during the training.

The training activities include classroom lectures, interactive didactics and site visits. In addition to CASS as the co-organizer of VIU, the training also involve professors of different Italian and European Universities, IMET executives, Chinese lecturers, Italian and international research centres, business communities, international agencies such as UNDP and UNEP.

Each training is organized as a two-week course involving 40 resident participants selected among CASS experts and officials. Courses are held in English with consecutive translation into Chinese.

The program has been operated satisfactorily for one year (2003-2004) and will continue in 2004-2005.
