I loved that in VIU we had a chance to meet people from different places in a relaxed atmosphere that made it possible to reach great discussions & make strong friendships, all in a framework of academic studies. I honestly believe that it's the best combination (TAU student, Fall 2001)

Aims of the Program
The aim of the Joint Undergraduate Program is to offer a quality international Program in Humanities and Social Science, to widen and enrich the educational experience of students of Member Universities; to foster mutual understanding among students of different nationalities; to promote knowledge and dialogue between different Academic traditions; to provide students with the possibility to relate to an historical and artistic city and a complex environment such as Venice; and to create opportunities of collaboration between Faculty of the Member Universities

Studying at VIU is a challenging and enriching experience. Students at VIU come from different countries and different academic backgrounds, and hence are accustomed to approaching studies in a variety of ways. Lecturers also come from a variety of backgrounds. VIU's goal is to encourage an active experience of learning to high academic standards, in a multicultural environment, contact with different methodologies, traditions and approaches to learning and interaction with other students and academics.
VIU organizes two Undergraduate semesters annually, with courses taught by professors selected from the member universities. The Fall semester (mid-September to mid-December) focuses on Social Sciences whereas the Spring semester (mid-February to mid-May) is dedicated to the Humanities. Moreover, every semester offers three core courses: Italian as a Foreign Language, Italian Contemporary History and Venetian Art and Architecture.
