The Struggle for Decolonization in Africa

Mordechai Tamarkin, Tel Aviv University

The process of decolonization in Africa began in earnest in the wake of World War II: This process unfolded in consecutive stages culminating in the transformation of South Africa in 1994. The course will deal with the interaction between the colonial powers and their African subject that lay at the root of the African march to freedom.
