Movie Series : Monday 18 th , Room 9A at 8.05 p.m.

LAMERICA, by Gianni Amelio, starring Enrico Lo verso and Michele Placido,1994, 116 mins, Italian with English subtitles, color. A Southern Italian, working for an enterpreneur who sets up a fake business to get State subsidies, discovers Albania and its ties with Italy (Fascism and Emigration).

Casa di Carlo Goldoni

Opening hours: 10 a .m. – 5 p.m. Closed on Sunday. Student ticket: 1,50€.
Palazzo Centanni is a 15th century building with a pointed arch facade facing the canal and visible from Ponte San Toma with a lovely courtyard and an open air stairway. Carlo Goldoni, the creator of modern theatre was born here in 1707. Each room has large television screens that show a number of various productions of Goldoni's work. (As well as being an exhibition space, however, the Casa del Carlo Goldoni continues to function as an important research centre with modern facilities and equipment).

Mariano Fortuny: Voyage in Egypt

A selection of about sixty pictures taken by the artist in Egypt in 1938.

Antonio e Giuseppe Sardi in Venice

architetti ticinesi nella Venezia del Seicento

Antonio (1580 ca. - 1661) and Giuseppe (1624 - 1699), father and son from Morcote, are a typical example of artistic emigration. They moved to Venice in the 16th century. It's their first photografic exhibitions in Italy.

A series of dance shows at Teatro Fondamente Nuove dedicated to a number of new national and international coreographers and dancers. The first will be on April 15 th , performing: Francesco Ventriglia , Valerio Longo e Martina Laragione .

Suzie Café
Campo San Basilio, 1527, behind Fond.ta delle Zattere. Open 7 a .m. to 8 p.m.
Loved by studennts, this bar is located in a sunny suare close to the Zattere fondamenta.

Senso Unico
San Vio, Calle della Chiesa 684. Open 10 a .m. to 1 a .m. Closed on Tuesday.
Just two minutes from Peggy Guggenheim, this is a cozy british pub. Friendly atmosphere attended by true venetians and american students.

Caffé dei Frari
Campo dei Frari, S. Polo 2564. Open 8 a .m. to 10 p.m. Closed on Sunday.
Well known café where you can drink an excellent coffee, or a cocktail, in front of the marvellous Frari church, in an elegant liberty style atmosphere, enriched by art lamps made of paper, brass and glass beads. Very peculiar is the hole in the ceiling that visually connects the ground floor with the upper one.

Arriving at the market from the Rialto bridge, turn right and you will discover the treasures of one of the more fascinating areas of the city, the Erbaria. Here you find this exceptional restoration, once a bank where antique merchant transferred their money. Prices are affordable , you will find them exposed and you will not pay cover charge even if you eat at the tables with a breathtaking on the Grand Canal.
